Welcome to Dining and Dragons! My name is Nick Heckbert, and I am very excite to bring two passions together and offer both bespoke catered menus and role playing campaigns designed specifically with you in mind.

My campaigns are fun and intuitive, even if you are a complete beginner. No level of experience required - just a hunger for adventure! This is a great way to learn to play, to give your forever GM a chance to play, teach valuable communication and leadership skills, or just bring a group of people together for an evening of indulgence and laughter.

I am a firm believer that there are no limits to what can be created with food, and that meals can always be curated to one’s preferences and needs, and I’m always excited to invent if necessary to achieve that! Most of all I believe food is fun, and that sharing a meal should always be enjoyable. The feeling of hospitality when a meal is cooked just for you always makes me happy, whether I’m cooking or eating.

First Step Food!

The first great passion that I put into crafting your event is my love of food and creating new and exciting food experiences. With many years experience in professional kitchens as well as with my business Bespoke Culinary Experiences, I have the tools and passion to create a menu to match your needs, and even tie it in to your specific game’s campaign.

I believe in flexibility as a game master and as a chef, so I offer a wide range of options for the feast portion of your event. Whether it be a beautiful buffet with a few delicious choices, a few courses for a hungry party with only the lunch hour to eat, or a multicourse fine dining tasting menu for those who took the noble background for their character and really want to experience that life, I can cook it up for you!

I also offer options to pair your menu with your campaign for a memorable and immersive experience! Join us at the table where food and fantasy collide.

On To Adventure In New Lands

My other great passion that I can share with you is story telling. I especially love telling stories through the medium of games. That’s why I want to make worlds that you are excited to play in, experience end enjoy. You can share a story with the other players in new ways unique to games.

There are so many vast worlds to explore as well. Whether you prefer the epic realms of fantasies, the looming skyscrapers and smoke of dystopian cyberpunk, the dusty deserts of a space opera sci fi, or the dangerous dirty streets of urban fantasy, I know a game system that can be used to create the perfect story in the perfect setting.

These experiences go beyond just a good time though. Working together with fellow players, figuring out a mystery or overcoming obstacles can teach us a lot. We learn about one another, ourselves, how to work together, and how to both lead and listen. And while the worlds exist in our shared imagination, the memories we make in them are very real.

You also get to create a new persona. Maybe it’s someone just like you, and you get to insert ourselves into a fantastical narrative. Maybe you want to be your ideal version of yourself, and be a superhero. Maybe you want to indulge in skullduggery that you wouldn’t do otherwise. That’s up to you to decide!

I am so excited to learn from you and create your perfect world, story, and help make the characters you want to play in them!

I wouldn't have known where to begin, but not only did it turn out well, I had so much fun putting it all together. Looking forward to getting better and crafting worlds for my players on more than just plates and papers.

To accompany it are duck fat roasted carrots and parsnips and a thick butter toasted slice of freshly baked brioche. Their chefs are trained in sauces too, so the whole affair is finished off with a gorgeous red wine jus.

This one uses a 16 spice marinade, including Kala namak to give the meat a complex and unique, and absolutely delicious profile. Then fragrant spices are blacked onto the pork before it is slow roasted. Underneath is a black garlic and octopus ink aioli. And it is finished with lines of leek ash.
